2. What was the principal idea behind the inception of B.A.T.?
B.A.T. was formed to provide knowledge-based software solutions in Life Sciences, Biotechnology and Health care. We always believed that intelligent software coupled with the latest in Science and Technology will contribute to the enhancement of the quality of human life.

We are a team of 100+ professionals that comprise Engineers, Software professionals, Project Management Professionals, Domain experts, Software Testers with domain expertise, Doctors, Researchers, and Technical Writers, among others.

We provide Knowledge Solutions in the niche areas where software enhances the efficacy of solutions provided in the domains of Bio Sciences, Life Sciences and Health care, and through research in the field of Analytical Technologies, Medical Devices and related equipment, used for product development. One of the key functions to which our software contributes is in the field of Detection and Measurement. 17. What is Delivery RTC? How is it useful for me?
Delivery RTC means Delivery Round the Clock (RTC). This is specifically introduced to share the work pressure of your team and to reduce time to market. Our team acts as an extended arm to complete your project faster and at efficient costs. We have a strong infrastructure to offer a blended model involving onsite, offshore and onshore services based on our customer’s requirement. The time zone differences offer the distinct advantage of round the clock work.

18. What kind of processes and documentation are followed at B.A.T.?
B.A.T. has developed its own set of processes called B.A.T. software processes (BSP). All the processes under the BSP umbrella are in line with industry standard processes such as Xtreme programming, Agile processes, RUP, etc. These processes are applied based on the size of the projects, nature of deliverables and overall scope of the project defined. We select an appropriate process from among the BSP to align with our client’s processes to ensure effective flow of communication, progress review and data exchange. The project documentation maintained as part of the quality management process is in line with ISO 9000 documentation.

19. Is the client involved in the development process?
B.A.T. believes in working in close collaboration with clients for exact and timely delivery. Our processes are flexible enough to match the level of involvement needed by our clients. We follow comprehensive methods to make every development process a success with valuable inputs and timely feedback from our esteemed clients.

20. How can a customer control project progress?
B.A.T. defines progress reviews at the project inception itself by mutually agreeable milestone reviews with customers. B.A.T also sets up an effective communication channel at both ends and allows customers to have “ANY TIME” reviews even while the project is in execution.

21. How does B.A.T. handle project costing and what does the B.A.T. proposal cover?

B.A.T. typically works on either a Fixed Cost Project Costing mode or Time and Materials mode. In the Time and Materials mode we have two categories, namely Onsite (at your offices or at your customer’s location) or Offshore (at B.A.T. offices in India). The B.A.T. proposal is given either for a general agreement covering small work-packs or for an entire project involving specific application development requirements.

The B.A.T. proposal covers confidentiality, requirements and project scope, responsibilities, project execution methodology, project organization, deliverables, delivery schedule and rates/ project costing along with commercial terms and conditions.
